Night Photography Class By Chris Attrell
Night Photography Class By Chris Attrell
Learn Low Light / Night Photography!
“It’s Attrell’s night shots … that really galvanize attention. … (T)he casual observer is left in wonder.” ~ Saskatoon Star-Phoenix
In 2 hours you’ll learn how to get your first night shot done right, without expensive equipment nor heavy editing. In over 5 years of teaching night photography to over 7,000 students, I have made the process simple and the classes are small so you can get hands on training. Even beginner photographers will be able to enjoy the bliss of night photography immediately.

Further, I teach 10-minute editing. I don’t Photoshop my images, I just apply basic editing, and for most people that is all you need to do.
Why Night Photography?
Night photography is a great way to learn photography because you must learn how to shoot in manual mode. In this class I’ll give you the basic settings for a variety of types of night shots. Once you’re familiar with these basics you’ll be able to explore the creative side of night photography. With light painting you can become an active participant with your image and can interpret the subject in a new way. But most importantly, it is the experience of solitude, bliss and peace that make it very satisfying.
What’s Required for the Class?
All you need is a DSLR or Mirrorless camera to start. You do not even need to know how to use it yet. Cameras 10 years old or newer do a much better job with night photography.
Before you go shooting, you will need a tripod and flashlight. I will introduce you to my favorite types of these, and all other optional equipment, including lenses, at the class.
Results
There is a maximum of 12 – 14 students per class as I am very hands on and will make sure you know how to find and adjust the required settings on your own camera. Further I teach you ways to practice all your skills at home before you head out in the dark to ensure you get it right the first time.
